Prepare for an entry-level job in Austin’s thriving manufacturing sector through the Advanced Manufacturing Production (AMP) Program at Austin Community College. ACC’s program was developed through collaboration with Austin’s largest Advanced Manufacturing companies and consists of two courses.

Foothill College
Semiconductor Processing Technician Apprenticeship Pathway
Students gain an overview of the semiconductor industry with a focus on cleanroom safety, wafer processing, and troubleshooting. The program emphasizes scientific thinking, applied mathematics relevant to processing operations, and hands-on experience through conducting experiments.

Vet S.T.E.P. (Semiconductor Training & Experience Program)
Vet S.T.E.P. is a DoD SkillBridge and an Army Career Skills Program, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), hosted by NY CREATES, and designed to prepare soon-to-be veterans for technician careers in the semiconductor ecosystem (fabs, equipment, and/or material suppliers).

Semiconductor Bootcamp is an immersive, hands-on training program developed by industry veterans in partnership with industry leaders. Students gain valuable hands-on experience and a foundational understanding of the semiconductor industry through Virtual Reality (VR), Classroom, Lab, and Process Tool Lab instruction.
